Description: Chippewa County is seeking funding to extend electric and gas services to the parcels within the Lake Wissota Business Park. Streets and storm sewer have previously been installed. Adding these this much-needed infrastructure improvement services will make the business park more competitive.

Description: The Renard Island Area of Concern contains contaminated sediments (PCBs and other pollutants) that have been dredged by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for navigational purposes and placed on Renard Island. The island needs to be closed in a manner that is protective of human health and the environment. Closing this facility while maintaining structural stability would allow for future recreational development on 54 acres of waterfront property. Proposed recreational activities include an outdoor theatre, extension of Bay Beach Amusement Park, fishing piers, marina and an RV park.
Recipient: Kaukauna Utilities

Amount Requested: $2,300,000
Description: Kaukauna has two hydroelectric generating facilities (2 MW and 3.6 MW) that are 102 and 82 years old respectively, and beyond their lifespan. Funding will assist the utility in replacing those with one 7 MW project – more efficient than the older ones and capable of 25% more green power. Without replacement of these facilities, the utility will be forced to resort to non-renewable power.

Description: Funding would help develop a Plug-In Hybrid Work Truck Power Train Conversion Kit. This innovation will enable many "straight" gas or diesel trucks to be converted to a plug-in hybrid. The kits will be developed in Wisconsin and marketed nationwide to retrofit existing truck fleets of Medium and Heavy Duty Work Trucks. Each plug-in electric drive truck with truck mounted equipment can conserve between 1,000 and 2,000 gallons of fuel per truck per year.

Description: The project aims to restore the channel depth at Two Rivers Harbor to 10 feet. Previous federal funding dredged the outer harbor; this funding will complete the dredging for the inner harbor. This project will serve commercial and sport fishermen, recreational boaters, and the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG). The USCG Station Two Rivers is the only full-time staffed facility between Milwaukee and Door County and is in proximity to the Kewaunee and Point Beach nuclear power plants.
